Great images for sure. The inside pictures remind me of European churches.

Thank you very much for taking a look and commenting. I'm sure the resemblance to European churches is no coincidence, since these churches were established by European immigrants. I appreciate your comments.

Tom, an especially nice set. I strive to capture good interior shots in catherals and churches and you seem to have the knack. The colors and sharpness are extremely good. Thanks.

Thank you very much for taking a look and commenting. I appreciate it. Not sure if I have the "knack", but when shooting these church interiors, I simply used a fairly high ISO and braced myself against the back of the pew in front of me. Did not use a tripod.

The Painted Churches are a group of churches, not actually in the town of Schulenburg, but in small communities in the surrounding area with place names like High Hill, Dubina, and Praha. They were established by German, Czech, and Polish immigrants in the late nineteenth century. They have become popular tourist attractions because of their elaborately and colorfully painted interiors. At first glance, some of the interiors appear to be stone or brickwork, but in fact are beautifully painted wood surfaces. We made our first visit to the churches in 2017 and a second visit in June of this year. The first 4 images were taken in 2017 and the last 3 in June 2018. Comments welcome and I hope you enjoy.
The Painted Churches are a group of churches, not ... (show quote)
