Wow!!!
These little guys dart and flitter around so quickly.
I have no idea how you manage to capture these images.
Shoot wide and crop I imagine.
Cool pics.
Thanks for sharing.

The process is a bit involved but involves a feeder, 4 off camera flashes, a remote release, cropping, and sometimes a little content aware fill to remove a portion of the feeder in the final pic. I stop the motion using the flashes and only use a shutter speed of 1/200 to 1/250 seconds. the flashes are set on manual at 1/32 power. I focus on the feeder with the camera or cameras on tripods. aperature at f10 and vary the iso from 100 to 400.
Very nice work, great colors!

Sitting on my front porch one morning I had a hummingbird come right up to me and hover around checking me out. I went and got my camera and got a number of shots off before he lost interest.
Then, goofing around with Photoshop Elements I took my daughter off of her horse and gave her a whole new ride.
Her right hand was wrapped up in the reigns and gave me a problem rendering on the bird.
