Probably because it was an ad right here on UHH. I saw the ad too. Many people mistake that as an endorsement, not realizing it is the ISP controlling the ads, not the web site.

People need to educate themselves better when using the internet. Falling for most internet scams like this is very preventable if one uses a little common sense. Amazingly people still fall for the old Nigerian Prince scam. Even though the target for these scams is very often all too trusting older people, they also take advantage of those that are way too gullible in our technological age.

Lot of Good advice, Pequaso, here in response to your unfortunate incident. As mentioned, first thing to do is protect yourself as you must assume they probably have sold your Credit Card Info to others. Call your card company, ask them to cancel your card and issue you a new one with a new number. Chances are they will have it in your hands in a couple of days.

Also call their attention to the scam you were a victim of and ask them to reverse the charge. Hopefully they will. If not at least you have protected yourself for the future. Also call up your card statement on your computer and see if additional charges you know nothing about have been posted since the date of your purchase from the scammers. If there have been such charges, take issue with your card company re those charges also.

From this 80 year old to another, I wish you well in all of this.

I am 80 years old and with thousands of pictures in my collection.

That is why when I saw the advertisement in the UHH for the Great Escape Publishing, I contacted them.
For $29/month they said they will explain how to get the work published in magazines with tips on how to find magazines, how to approach them, how to submit the work for máximum impact.

The first thing I noticed was that after 2 days they never send me the receipt. But during the next few days they keep sending more propaganda, offering in addition to the $29.

1.- Travels Vídeos for profit, full program for just $243.
2.- Photo tips cards for $39.97.
3.- Add six months membership for $99 plus $6 in shipping.
4.- Special discount offer for Breakfast Stock Club Premium Membership for $29.25/month.
5.- The biggest boast you will ever get monthly photo critiques for $251.45/ month. You will have a professional photographer looking at your photos before you submit them for sale.

After all this in 15 days of propaganda and additional expenses, they never mentioned how to submit a photo to a magazine as this was the deal for the $29/month.

When I contacted them to cancel the subscription they refused to send me the money back, contrary to what it was advertised in their special offer: $29 a month, I can cancel at any time.

I decided to send this note to everybody so that You will be aware of this Scam.

Thank you for your attention.
