My husband and I went on a 6 week family and 9 National park tour. I had a 13” MacBook Pro and a 1T WD Passport. I did no post on the trip but before we left, I set up folders for each park and family visit on the WD. Then, each day I downloaded my photos to the appropriate folder on the WD. I didn’t want to spend all my time processing and missing out on the rest of our trip. When we were in the parks, I took several hundred photos each day. The weeding out process alone would have taken too long. I’m not familiar with your model iPad, but if it has a slot for a memory card, the same system would work for you. Save your post for when you have access to LR Classic and enjoy your vacation!

The WD Passports are great for storage while traveling - light and compact. I have several that are 2TB so I would never run out of space on a trip! I also recommend taking plenty of SD cards so you can keep them until you get home. That way there are two copies of every image as insurance in case one form or the other is lost or stole!

Your pre-planning by creating folders in advance is an excellent idea!
