"Bombshell" a GarWood Streamliner .
Built by GarWood (Garfield "Gar" Arthur Wood, 1880-1971) an interesting man, an inventer, entrepreneur, and motorboat builder. The first man to travel over 100 mph on water.
If you've ever watched the hydraulic "crusher" on the ubiquitous garbage truck, you've seen one of his inventions at work. They were originally built and sold under the name Garwood Load Packer.
At one point he held more U.S. Patents than any other living American.
He had a home in Algonac, Michigan, the same city as Christopher Smith, the founder of Chris-Craft boats.
Another really beautiful money pit. (I say that lovingly having owned boats most of my life.)
Why do you say "waterlogged?" Looks like sha's floating on her normal waterline.
Great set, KT! Excellent photography and interesting stories.
Wood......can’t beat it.
