In preparation to go to NY to see the new grand daughter, I reviewed shots from a visit last October. The New York Botanical Garden had an exhibit by Dale Chihuly, a famous glass sculptor. He is of interest to me because he created a 30-foot work (Olympic Tower) that symbolized the 2002 Olympic Games here and stands in our local concert venue, Abravanel Hall. These were taken with my old D80 and, as can be seen, I have not mastered shooting through glass exhibition cases. I hope this set will give you a taste of the wonderful work he does and the breadth of his exhibition.

Excellent set Mike.
Thanks, Jim! Like the new avatar. You obviously married above yourself - lol.
While vacationing in Seattle a few years back, we went to the Chihuly Glass display near the Space needle.....although your photos are excellent, in my humble opinion they can't really show the beauty of his work. No matter how I tried to photograph these, there is nothing like seeing this display in person. I was amazed at what he creates out of glass. One of my favorite places that I've photographed....my long time Navy buddy took one of my photos that I took of Chihuly's work and made it into a trip-tic on canvas over his couch. I was pretty impressed how it turned out.

I would love to see some of his work again with my new camera. This set does not begin to capture the amount of great work he does.

Thanks, but there was so much more that I did not have the time or ability to show you.

I had a hard time shooting through the glass showcases as well and had a lot of processing to do... considering this was your older camera, these look great!!!
...and the best camera is the one you were using at the time!!!
