Camped a couple nights at the CG at the El Morro National Monument. It is maybe a mile from the Monument and visitors center. Only 9 sites and they are pristine! I was alone one night and another night had 2 sites taken! Very peaceful and quiet. I had to work pretty hard to get the birds! By that I mean patience!! I shot about a 30 frame burst of a momma green-back Towhee feeding her juvenile. This had to be a millennium youngster. He looks way old enough to be on his own, but nooooo! Momma gots t'take care of the little fellow! I just included one frame here, but watching the food transfer was very cool! Also thrilling was watching the blue birds catch bugs and flies. They are amazingly acrobatic!!! The pictures are very bad, impossible for me to capture, but it was awesome to just watch! Every now and then one has to just put the camera down and be awed!
A lot of time, but well worth it!
I’d say your patience paid off. Beautiful birds and beautiful photos,

Patience is a Virtue....nicely done
Nice captures, and what a fabulous National Monument to visit. One can sit and absorb the presents of those who have come before.
That's such a beautiful place. Nicely done.
Again, thanks to each for your warm comments...
