This is a small patch of woods near my house. I took the dog on a walk there this morning. I also brought my Nikon D7100 with my new (to me) Tamron 28075mm lens.
All pics are SOOC, no PP. Also trying Back Button focusing for the 1st time. (takes a little getting used to!)
Maybe it's my eyes, but the images appear a little soft to me.
1/125, f3.3 28mm iso 100
1/12, f3.3 28mm iso 900
ny buddy - f3.3, 1/125, iso 100 28 mm
1/125, f3.5, iso 110, 75mm
Once you get used to back button focusing you won't go back.

You're probably right - but I got a lot of out of focus shots because I forgot to press the button - used to the taking button doing the focusing, I guess.
If there was a question in your post (this is discussion area vs gallery) the answer is "yes", they do look slightly out of focus. Or, it may me the miles of distance with that 28075 lens!

It does take getting used to, but having the focus and exposure separate is great!
(I don't always want to meter on what is being focused.)
The more you use BBF, the easier it becomes.
Yep, they are a bit soft.

Looks like this could be ok as a portrait lens
