The problem I had with Mike's post, and the reason I did not get into the discussion, is that he posted it in the wrong section. The critique section is not for opening discussions on how to improve your pictures. It is for receiving critique on your best effort finished images. The 'For Your Consideration' section is where this should have been posted. It would have received a much more sympathetic and helpful reception there.

Ditto, except I think the correct section would be Post-Processing Digital Images. That's the forum where people are interested in what Mike is asking we do. I've also noticed the the Post-Processing Digital Images forum has had quite a few people just asking for critiques of their images, which would be better suited to this forum or the For your consideration forum.

Thanks guys for all the input. This site is a wee too big to find all the ins & outs w/o a roadmap. Now I have an idea where to go play.
