I like these, Donna. Especially the 2nd where you can see the fuzz on the stem.

I'm always interested to see how folks work a flower for b&w. Yours is highly engaging, Donna! Love the black background which sets off the textured petals & center so beautifully. The square mat and framing make this an elegant work of art.

Thank you so much, sweet Corolyn! The second was past its prime and a bit droopy but still pristine enough to make a great model, and I'm so glad you enjoyed!

What a lovely, encouraging comment, Linda! I did one little click on a Nik preset for the conversion. Do you remember the presets that Nik (when owned by Nik) offered for free? I've had those things for ages and have even added my own but seldom use any of them. This is one I just happened over 'by mistake', and it turned out rather nice. All I had to do was tweak the highlights a bit. The frame is from Topaz Studio. Thanks so much, Linda!

Very Nice Donna, That's about the only B/W flower shot I ever saw that doesn't look like a dead flower

Thanks so very much, Johnny, and I know what you mean. Every flower I've tried to convert to b/w has looked dull, washed out and dead except this one, and I can't even take credit for the conversion. It was somebody's preset.

Outstanding set, Donna ! Each one of them has a place in its own way.
Yellow against dark background further enhances the first two frames.
Lovely work !!

I didn't buy Nik 'til just before or after Google took it. I don't recall any additional free pre-sets from that era but I might just have been concentrating more on Topaz

Re frames: I learned that the free FastStone Image Viewer (which I have, for a variety of reasons) has frames too, so I'm going to look into them. I used to use Picasa...back in the day...

I like all three very much, Donna--great work. I really admire your treatment of the last one (I'm not normally much of a black & white fan, but I do like this one very much).
