I like your shot. But the B&W leaves me feeling eh. B&W doesn't show the differnt colors in the wood. There have to be at least 5 differnt shades in this shot. Your plants are gray blobs, again look at the colors.
I went through my " artsy" phase with black and white. Dude, dig the contrast, it's moody. It's the way Ansel shot
I would bet American money, that if Ansel had tdays gear, his shot would be in color.
