Is it possible to use Lightroom to process pictures in the Apple Photos database? I want to select pictures, go out to Lightroom and process them and return the processed picture to my Photos file. I want to avoid the Lightroom catalog feature.
When I first got Lightroom I converted my 19K file to Lightroom and ended up with a 100K+ file with many, many duplicates. I finally eliminated the duplicates manually (I now have 21k pictures in my Photos file) and use Affinity in conjunction with Photos but there are many tools in Lightroom and even Photoshop that I would like to use (I currently subscribe to both, but will give up the subscription if I can't use the Photos database) .
Thankew for any info!
You can make Lightroom do that, but the workflow is awkward. It was not made to do that.
Better is to use Photoshop. If you are starting with RAW, ACR opens first. ACR and Lightroom both use the same system or "engine" and have the same tools..
I JPEG, open in Photoshop and use "Camera Raw Filter" in the Filters menu. You'll get the same Lightroom/ACR tools without the awkward single image in Lightroom workflow.
Great, understandable work-around. Will try.
Most obliged and thanx!

Why "avoid" the Lightroom catalog feature?
