I have searched UHH web-site for old communications about Fujifilm cameras and lenses but did not find what I was looking for.
I will be going to Yellowstone next month and am considering buying a lighter and more compact mirrorless camera system for my trip. I am considering a budget of ~$2500.00.
I already own a Nikon D750 & D5000 with multiple zoom and prime lenses (10-24mm, 24-120mm, 28-300mm, 150-600mm, 18-200mm, 20mm, 50mm, 105mm and the kit lenses that came with D5000). I think I am tempted towards Fujifilm X-T20 since it has most of the features I am looking for, but I am not sure what lenses to buy. I would like to keep it within my budget, prefer lighter and compact lenses that would be good for landscape, wild life, portrait, street photography and cover wide range from tele to wide angle. I prefer not to constantly change lenses during a trek. Any suggestions on bundled kits or separate list in order of priority that someone who already owns or has past experience with fujifilm cameras may be able to shed.
Thanks for your time and input.

Any one with two camera as you say you have ,and the lenses you say you have , it should be no problem for you to pick a camera ,is that the way you also picked what you have now . Any way for $2500 to blow go and get the small Sony full frame with a fixed lens on it ,it may have interchangeable lenses ,can't remember ,but that is all you need to pack ,

I have the Fuji X-T2 with the following lenses; 10-24, 18-55, 55-200, 18-135, 35 2.0 Prime. When I can afford a new lens I will be getting the 16 2.8 prime. All the Fuji lenses are great but to purchase the whole load I mentioned is more then your budget allows. Having used this camera and lenses on a recent trip to New Zealand I would recommend purchasing the 10-24 and 18-135. Neither of those will help with shooting wildlife from a long distance but will cover 95% of all other shots with great IQ. I used the 18-135 80% of the time changing only to the 10-24 on those special occasions where I wanted the additional wide perspective. Although I had the other lenses with me, I didn't use them except for the 16mm 2.8 on a couple occasions. I also own Canon equipment but am totally in love with my X-T2. Enjoy and have fun on your trip.

No, I slowly accumulated over last 10 years or so. I am now over 70 and have a harder time lugging everything with me. I do a lot of PP so I want to stay with interchangeable lens system. Thanks for your suggestion.

Have you considered seeing if there is an adapter for your Nikon lenses to work with the Fuji?

Thanks for your suggestions. I am tempted to stick with 18-135 mm, even though I will not have any coverage in the 10-18 mm range but will get coverage in 24-135 mm. For extra wide coverage instead, I will stitch to create pano. For extra reach would you recommend 55-200mm or any other lens? Eventually for portrait work I may get a f 2.8 or 4 zoom lens. But at this time I may stick with these two. As far as other items such as extra batteries (what brand did you buy), Swiss arca L-plate, etc. BTW I had considered X-T2 but it is 50% heavier than T20 so I am staying with T20, though the price difference is only ~$200. Any advice is appreciated.

Yes, thanks. But the weight is mostly in bigger lenses and the Nikon lenes would work in manual mode with the adapter. I am trying to reduce the weight. I may use my Tamron 150-600 mm with an adapter on Fujifilm.

Does that mean you prefer a Nikon camera ,if so you have all you need , I am over 77 , be 78 in Sept. I can't lug anything anymore.

Keep in mind that the X-T20 is a 24mp camera and you can do a certain amount of cropping to bring objects closer. Thus, no huge long lenses.

I love my 55-200mm when I want to compress or zero in on that perfectly lighted mountain peak during magic time. I am mostly a landscape photographer so do not find a huge need for the 100-400mm but if I had the money sitting around doing nothing would probably purchase it. Regarding batteries, I always carry with me 3 fully charged Fuji batteries and make sure I have my charger with me. I rarely shoot video so the batteries are fine.

Just curiosity, how many shots can you get on a fully charged battery? I will also not shoot videos so I should be OK with two batteries. I like to shoot HDR so want to have enough batteries life to last a day. I have 128 GB SD cards so my memory needs are OK.

Good question. I shoot RAW + Fine (JPEG) using both SD slots. I have never really paid attention to the # of shots, just ready with an additional battery if need be. However, a battery usually lasts me a full day of intermittent shooting. I also pay attention to turning the camera off regularly when not shooting.

The Fuji takes great photos but the drawback is lens selection. I have a friend that went last year with this camera and the photos are great. Why not just go with Sony mirrorless with a Nikor lens adaptor. I think with that budget you should be able to swing a very nice body and use your existing lenses. This kind of defeats compact idea though. I did some quick searches for Fuji zoom lenses and this was the most versatile lens I could find - https://www.adorama.com/ifj55200xfnk.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI0uXZ7NOc3AIVA9lkCh1OEQBYEAQYBCABEgJkgvD_BwE. There are a bunch of refurbished for about a $100 cheaper.
