finally buying (I think) Panasonic FZ150

I've been looking at cameras forever and finally settled on one. The Panasonic Lumix FZ150. Does anyone here use this camera? Are the manual controls easy to use? I've been using DSLRs the last 6 years, but got tired of toting them everywhere, but I'd really like to use the manual settings. Any comments about it would be welcome. Thank you!

I don't have one. I had decided to wait and see what the FZ200 would bring. I was hoping for a bigger sensor. But they didn't put in a bigger one, just a constant F/2. I don't think that's worth the 800 dollar price tag. I have an older FZ. The FZ20, I liked the size of it, larger than either the Nikon P510 or the Canon SX$0 or whatever. A friend of mine has a FZ150. The controls, menus and settings are pretty straight forward. It does have Manual. aperture and shutter control. He takes sharp photos even at 600MM. You won't be sorry.

Hi, Have also finally decided that toting my DSLR and assorted lenses was risking a hernia so have swapped to the 4/3rds system. I considered the FZ150 but was swayed to the G set up with its interchangeable lenses and settled on a second hand G2 with the 14-45 and 45-200 lenses. Whist not being a complete 'pocket' set up the camera and lenses are very portable and compared with my Canon equivalent very light. The full kit of lenses , body, spare batteries, filters, shutter release etc fits into a very, very small bag. I was also impressed by the build quality and robustness of the equipment. I had expected cheap plastic and a 'toy' camera feel, but it does feel a 'proper bit of kit'. As for results, printing up to A3 is brilliant and the camera extremely versatile. Highly recommended in fact.

Former FZ28 user (wife now uses) easy use for M and all modes.

I just had my hands on a new canon SX40 as well as "Speed read" the manual - lots of "stuff" on the FZ150 that is not on the SX40 - I think you made a wise choice.
