I need to replace the head supply assembly and cannot find the part. Epson says it it discontinued. Where can I get the part I need. The part number is 1562377. I will consider buying a used one if I have to.

I had the same issue with my print head and could not find any parts for it. You may get a used one that has the same issue with the print head. I caught a sale at Staples and got a new Epson 3750 with eco-tank ink tanks. Much cheaper ink

I had same problem, never found a head. I did find a new printer on Amazing it it was $540, far too high. I ended up buying an 860. It is now as good but has worked out ok.

Typical...

Really, I would not put any money into an older printer like that. Epson is likely to discontinue software support for the 837 soon, if they haven’t already. That means it’s extremely likely the current drivers won’t work on the next versions of Windows or MacOS. They probably won’t keep making those inks much longer, either!

Printer models sell for about three years in the marketplace, at best. Software support is for about five years, at best. Ink is available for five to ten years, at best.

I would think it’s time to replace it... or consider using a lab.

I appreciate all the remarks and have taken them to heart. I trust the info you all share on this site. It has been truly wonderful to hear others have faced similar issues as well. I keep reading on that epson 860 and I can't see where it has any digital slots for sd or cf cards. I use my printer for photos mostly. I would love to have a very good photo printer. I was in love with my 835. I still have hope to find that part some where. If you use the 860, how is it with photos? Does it print 8.5x11 ?

What is your comparison with the 837 and the one you have now?

Or, jump ship and get a Canon Pro-100. Deals are often found on that popular printer at B&H.

I got the Epson 3750 to replace my 837. It has 2-sided printing, the auto document feeder and scanner, just like the 837. It is setup on a wifi connection, so I didn't have to drag a cable across the floor. And like all Apple and Epson connections, it was eezy-peezy to set up. Plus an added bonus are the ink tanks that used bottled ink. Replacements of the bottled ink set are so much cheaper than those $80 cartridge sets for that 837. I lucked up when our local Staples store had a $100 trade-in for any old Epson printer.

I have printed from an SD card and consider it good quality. That is not my normal workflow. I usually download photos to computer for processing, then to printer from computer.
My main problem with it is the wifi disconnects about ever 6 months. Also it holds less paper.

When I buy printers , I go on line and see if I can finf a head for the machine. All Canon printers have user replaceable heads. The 9000 series the 9500 series Mk1 and M2 have replaceable heads my Canon IPF 8300 a 44 inch wide printer that is 7 feet long has 2 heads that can be replaced 1 at a time even # and they are only $425 .00 a head ..flip 2 levers and replace , user friendly....my friend 2 years ago bought a Epson 11880 a 8,000 dollar dollar printer , when I asked how much a new head was he said he didn't have to worry when a head wears out on an Epson its time to throw it away . The salesman had told him it should last at least 10 years. I guess he was wrong the head took a dump this past week , Epson wants $2400.00 for a head and over $1500.00 for a tech to install and inialize special firmware needed only the techs have it ...stick with Canon . Oh and the 8300 I own is the 1 my friend gave me because it needed a new head , I am still using it today ....

I thought about trying the cannons so maybe I will look them up. I do most of my small printing from home up to 11x17. I am not interested in shelving out a lot of money. Most of my photos are for events and friend and occasionally putting on the wall of my home or friends.
