You have a Canon 6D ll and a Canon 80D (bodies) one of which you are going to let go. Which one do you keep for all around daily use if you can only keep one?

That would depend on which lenses you own and what you're going to shoot. For all intents and purposes the 6D2 is an 80D with a full frame sensor. They can serve two different purposes. If you own both, you should be the best judge of which one gives you the results you're happiest with for the subjects you shoot.

Sorry, I'd keep both. I have 3 DSLRs I regularly use, I'll keep all until they die.

Thanks fo the comments. Would like to keep the 6D ll but like the buit-in flash for easier carry around. Trying to work on another plan for needed money later this year but may need to part with one.

DUDE, that's your decision. Which one is going to give you the most flexibility and performance.

I agree with the first poster in that the lenses you now have would probably be the deciding factor for me. Since the full frame glass is considerably more expensive, I'd bet that you probably have better coverage with the EFS, crop sensor, lenses unless you've purchased and are using only the EF lenses on the 80D. Either way, they are both great cameras and since it does appear that money is an issue here, I'd probably keep the 80D. Good luck and good shooting to all.

All of my lenses are FF, many times I grabbed the 6D and an EF-S lens in a quick grab and run thinking of mm instead of lens type. The 80D has been used more than the 6D though, mostly because of the built-in flash.

I try to avoid using built-in flashes, so that wouldn't even be a consideration for me. They're weak, slow to recycle, in the worst possible place for redeye and shadow problems, and heavily draw down the camera's battery reducing the number of shots possible. Accessory flashes are a much better solution, IMO... and those are available in a wide range of sizes ranging from small and pocketable to big and powerful, if that's a concern. Even the smallest accessory flash is a big improvement over built-in.

Other than that... which to keep and use depends upon what you shoot.

FF is ideal for wide angle to short tele lenses... landscapes through portraiture. APS-C is great for longer telephoto work.... sports, wildlife, etc.

In fact I keep and use both. Because of what I shoot, it's mostly APS-C.... a pair of 7DII right now. But also FF sometimes and I'm still using an older 5D Mark II.

After years and thousands of photos at retirement the home of the Motherhouse for the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart my onboarding flash works fine, recycled instantly and with 5 batteries on hand never runs out of power. Each year photo albums are made for each Sister celebrating their Jubilee. Built in flash workes fine if you use it enough to understand it, never had red-eye.

It really depends on what you photograph.

In my case, if I were sticking with Canon, I’d keep the 80D. It records better video.

Since I wouldn’t stick with a dSLR, though, I’d probably trade both bodies on Canon’s forthcoming mirrorless offering.

Just from reading your posts, keep the 80D.
