I have just got to say you have big Balls. At my Daughters wedding, if I had taken the camera Pros time away from taking photos, my wife and daughter would have killed me. Even taking the camera is "a sign", IMHO.
Having them be compared later would be "a sign".

I guess we are open for discussion -- is the father of the bride allowed to take some pictures with permission from the daughter, wife. and the hired photographer? I did not take time away from the pro -- I was in the the front pew all of the wedding I was just a father taking pictures of his only daughters wedding -- ( see other post ) if the hired photographer said no I would have respected that -- no flash was allowed during the service and post photos were done off site of the church ( see link ) It just takes balls to ask!!

It didn't use to bother me as much, but nowadays... here is a shot of chaos, a nightmare for me. The fellow in the back with his arms way up, that's the dad. The guests were like a pack of hungry paparazzi.

I shot my step daughters wedding because they could not afford anyone else, my price was very reaonable. Even though I am far from a pro I did have my lighting, two cameras, etc, so I looked the part, I guess. I had the same issue with family and guests. After the wedding taking the family shots were the worst. sometimes there were over 5 people taking pictures, some even stepped in front of me to take them. What a nightmare. I decided right then to never do another wedding. Good thing I didn't have a cattle prod.

Sorry for getting serious about your post. You really did take photos and hired a photographer? And if guest seeing you take photos got in your way of you taking photos taking there own photos? Can I come to your daughters next wedding, I wouldn't have a clue what I was doing. But I need practice and will give you all the jpegs I take.
