I got something I really wanted for Father's day this year, a new tripod, and I put it to good use over the 4th of July Holiday. I debated whether to haul it with me and fight the crowd for our local fireworks display and almost left it home. However, I decided to take and use it and I'm glad I did! I always take the camera and have gotten some good shots shooting hand held at previous shows, but admit that they are few and far in between. However, I must say that I was surprised and very pleased with the results shooting from the tripod and there are more keepers than culls this time around as well. So, even though I'm sure everyone has grown tired of fireworks photos by now, I thought I'd post of few for your viewing and comments. Man, I love a new toy/tool! Thanks and good shooting to all.

Bison Bud, ALL of the photos are really, really good!
Are they straight out of the camera or did you process them?
Nice work!

The JPEG's were very good on their own, but yeah I touched them up a bit.

I'll bet your new motto is:

Tripod - don't leave home without it!

Very nice shots!

Nice images of the fireworks. Tripods are not accessories, they are a necessity.

Yep, the new tripod has earned it's spot in my everyday take along gear! Best Father's Day gift yet. Thanks for the kind words.

Very nice. As for carrying a tripod to fireworks, I always drive my F150, loaded with tripod, chairs, cooler, kids & grandkids.

I watch videos every day trying to learn more about photography and I remember in one video that the statement was made that the one thing that will improve your photography more than anything else is to use a good tripod!
