I went outside to get the 5 cats some fresh leaves for lunch and look who greeted me!!!!
A beautiful, perfect female Monarch!!!! I only had my cell on me and when I went back with my camera, she was gone.... but hopefully she remembers I have the best milkweed in town and comes back and leaves me some presents.... and also tells all her friends!!!

Good luck to you!! The monarchs need all the help they can get.... one of my cats just went into J-Hook position, so by tomorrow I might find the chrysalis, then a week later it will emerge!!

love the whole process, which is why I want to help the monarch, my yard fixtures are the Gulf Fritillary butterflies (live exclusivity on Passion Vines) so watch and shoot the process yearly, have yet to be there when they emerge and inflate, but have plenty of the rest of the process shots, you can search on the macro section if your curious

I love the whole process also, so that's why I bring the eggs inside and tend to them from there... but this year I didn't get to experience the baby stage and went straight to almost fully grown cats! ...to be honest, a lot easier and cleaner!!

If you find a chrysalis on your pasion vine, you should bring it inside or put it in a container... just pin it up from the leaf on a ribbon. Watching them emerge is amazing!

Way to go, Angela. It's like having a swimming pool, they'll be back for more.
