Canon 100mm L macro lens whirring noise

When focusing with the IS turned on there is a loud whirring noise. The question is should this noise continue for 4more seconds after the photo is taken. I use a canon 80D and would like to know if anyone else has a similar problem. I purchased this lens refurbished from Canon back in Feb. I do have an e mail into them inquiring. Thanks for any info.

We have 2 of them in the studio that get used often.
No loud whirring noise.

Mine makes no whirring noise. Hopefully Canon will take of your problem.
