Anyone have any opinions regarding Calumet Genesis lights? I bought a couple after having used them at a school photography and publishing company a few years ago. The company owned several sets of them and they seemed to work quite well. The Calumet no longer exists, I understand, but I might be interested in getting a couple more of them if they are available and reasonably priced. Comments and opinions pro or con welcomed. Thanks in advance.

Don't you have any opinions on them? If you want more, then put a watch on eBay. Nearly everything comes up eventually.
I use Quantum lights. The Calumet is a copy. You might look at Flashpoint or Godox. Similar, cheaper, non-US.
I've been considering purchasing this kit. Reasonable and would have everything I'd need, even duplicating some things.

Hobby, welcome to the Hog.
Yes, they are good lights. I have two Genesis 200’s
I’ve had no problems with them. They recycle a bit slower than my Photogenic Lights and aren't near as heavy duty or powerful but work well.
I see then on EBay from time to time at various costs. I also see some smaller travel lites which might be nice if you need portable. Sometimes I run mine on a Vagabond on locations.
Personally I’m ready to sell everything I own, light wise, and get some new or used Buff Einstein’s or some battery powered lights, like Godox.
At a good price the Genesis are worth buying. My guess is outdoors at night they probably don’t have the power if you need to light a bigger area. In a studio they are all you need. Good luck

I have 2 Einstein's and 2 Vagabond mini battery packs. The battery packs clip to the light stand and serve as a "sandbag" to stabilize the strobe and modifier.
I have a Novatron 1600 kit, 3 power adjustable flash heads that have modeling lights built in, 3 umbrellas, 3 stands, snoot, and case. I used it to teach studio work at the University of Alaska. Not really used much. I'll even through in a flash meter. The snoot is not pictured. It's name your price day. Contact me if you are interested.
