"Fluffy" would be a good name for this chicken

This was the male. I got a chance to pet the female and she was very soft. I don't think either one of them would have taken to kindly to being used as a duster but maybe instead of calling him Fluffy we should call him Dusty. :)

Nice capture! I love the wild chickens in Hawaii and photograph them whenever I see one.

The chicken breed is the araucana. Originated in Chile and over the years hybridized into a breed known as Easter eggers. The araucana lays blue eggs and is often called the Easter egg chicken. The Easter egger chicken looks much like the original araucana and lays eggs of colors besides blue. The are a very hardy chicken and thus liked by those who raise them for more than the novelty of the colored eggs. I haven't heard any comments on whether the meat tastes any different from other chickens.
