Remember a few years ago when the USPS used a photo of the Korean War sculpture on a stamp? They did it again with the Statue of Liberty, and they tried to get away with it.

"U.S. Postal Service must pay $3.5 million after confusing Statue of Liberty with ‘sexier’ Las Vegas replica"

Pay to who? Another reason to raise the price of stamps.

I think I'm going to place a trash can beside my mailbox. It will save a lot of steps since about 95% of the mail I get belongs there anyway. Mostly ads that I have NO interest in. I got one a few days ago from a funeral home. I wrote "Return to sender. I'm not dead yet.", and put it back in the mailbox.

We have our trash and recycle bins near the mail box. Most of the mail never makes it to the house. Everyday I get something from insurance companies wanting to help me with supplemental policies since I will be turning 65 soon. How do they know this? It is very annoying.

My Dad was very concerned about the direction of our country before he passed away at 88. He had his home, clothing, and enough food, so he donated several thousand dollars to one of the political parties and candidates in 2004, the year before he died. After his death, I continued to received enough solicitations in his name from politicians around the country that they filled paper grocery bags for several years to come.

Apparently the artist for the stamp preferred to go to L.V. rather than N.Y.

You are absolutely correct. It doesn't matter what political party you donate to, the political junk mail just keeps coming to your mailbox. Usually asking for more money, and vouching for candidates to vote for. I came to the conclusion, that all I will give any candidate is my vote. They'll figure out the lapses in campaign funding. I now give my donated money to help those who are really in need, like children, Veterans, wildfires, tornadoes, and hurricane victims.

Why would anyone in their right mind give money to ANY politician or political party? These criminals do not and never have concerned themselves with your needs.

Social Security publishes the information for the insurance industry to help agents to sit down with the prospective client and choose the best policy for the individual. As an agent, upward of 200 hours per year is spent passing State and Federal tests, going through many hours of updates by the companies (seminars) for the benefit of the retiree. (Unpaid, of course)

Medicare and all of the companies are trying to present a variety of options which can be confusing for the individual. That is where your agent comes in. Only suppliment plans can be mailed. The advantage plans are not, but are on TV. That is why it is wise to use an agent.

I have an app on my GPS which notifies my every time I pass a home with people turning 65 so I can stop by, leave my card and wait for their phone call. I am not allowed to conduct business until I receive an invitation by the prospect.

Two items: 1) the United States Post Office near Carrolton and Claiborne, in New Orleans, put up a sign telling box holders to NOT put their junk mail in the PO's trash cans. HA! That didn't get much of a response so, they removed all the trash cans... Management of that PO is much complained about anyway.... 2) Junk mail I receive, if it has a postage paid return envelope, finds itself stuffed with everything I stuff into it- including used Kleenex- and returned to sender.
