A Sense of Place: Castle Tioram.

Castle Tioram (pronounced cheerum) sits on the coast on Loch Moidart west of Fort William. It was the stronghold of the Clanranald branch of the Clan Donald. It is accessible on foot only at low tide.

Stunning set R.G. It's the first and last ones for me. Is it accessible inside? There is only one castle in my area. I have visited it many times over the years. Your images is a reminder for me to visit again. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g50574-d482260-Reviews-Loveland_Castle-Loveland_Ohio.html

Thank you Dave. I didn't try to get inside, but I don't think there's much of an inside left. Apparently the Jacobites described it as being in poor condition, and that was more than 270 years ago . Thanks for the link - America isn't usually associated with castles.

Another fine set. I like the composition of the first shot. I think there are some birds flying around. On my monitor they appear as black dots. I think I would remove them. Like dave, I also like the last shot. I think that is because of the point of view. Low and looking up makes it appear ominous and foreboding. Nicely photographed.

Yes, the birds do look a bit like sensor spots . "Foreboding" is a look that I tried to enhance in PP in an earlier post of #4 (here). The above edit is closer to reality. Thanks for commenting.

I like them both. I probably prefer the edit above rather than the darker version.

I thought it was worth a try and I'm glad I did. It was just a bit too dark for some, but I wanted a proper nighttime look.

A nice set. No4 is tops for me - the castle looks almost as old as the bedrock it's built on and your angle and handling of the scene exemplify this.

Thank you John. This view of the castle is the most intimidating of all the options.
