An interesting film. Thanks for sharing this news. I noted a small few of the Flickr images look like they were shot in Colorado (Rocky Mountain N.P.). I agree that Kodak should consider sharing the film with us. /Ralph

They have Ektar in the US and it's good enough for me. What took them so long to reintroduce Ektachrome? When they do it's the only kind of film I use.

How is that new Ektar film? Back in the late 80's when it was intro'd I felt it was the best Kodak general purpose color film available. Good sharpness, not over saturated, good 'grain' structure

The current Ektar 100 is a very fine grain film. High contrast, high saturation. Works well at ISO 100 there is no need and I think one shouldn't rate it as anything lower than its box speed. There is a problem that the color balance isn't very forgiving. In full sun and in shade requires different color balance when printing. I don't think it's good for portrait. For portrait I would stick to Portra 160.

It seems to be a different formula then from the previous. Guess I wouldn't like it as much. Oh well the FE stays on the shelf.

Sounds promising.

Reading between the lines in the first link, it looks like the film, despite the "Pro" in its name, is intended for general use.

I look forward to some reviews and a 120 version.

I bought a 5-pack of this on eBay. It is made by Kodak in the USA but the package clearly indicates that it’s intended for market in Mexico and South America. And it’s not just the word “pro” in the name. The box says “Kodak Professional Pro Image 100.” It just arrived today but it’s going on the back burner because my first 3 rolls of Ektachrome arrived from Hunt Photo and Video today also. Pro Image 100 will just have to wait a while.
