Prescott 4rth of July Fair > Editorial Pics with new camera.

Aloha everyone.
I took a new Sony A6500 with the Zeiss lens to the Prescott 4rth of July Town Fair and shot some editorial stock (thus editorial captioned).
The Sony autofocus locked on much quicker than the full frame Canon's that I usually use. And, it's small form factor and lens was much less intrusive than gear that shouts, "reporter" or "journalist" in a crowd. (My wife and I usually shoot events with 2 full frame bodies for each of us)
This was my first experience with this camera on location in a rapid shoot setting.I was impressed.
It certainly won't replace my full frame gear but I can see it has great value in the right setting.
(My wife shot many of the same pics with a full frame Canon and the silky smooth 135 "L". . of course blew the Sony APSC/Zeiss images out of the water)
I shot jpeg and raw. These are the jpegs with only quick edits in Lightroom that I use for previews.
The sax player and violinist were shot nearly into the sun for background isolation. The Sony did an excellent job with it.
Enjoy
Mahalo,
jim
Very nice, Jim. Really some very nice interpretive photographs.

Thanks Bob,
First light rain of summer in Prescott. Brought the past "heat" down quite a bit.
Really liked your B&W man rowing shot.

I would have liked to see a comparison with your wifes camera. I know the bigger sensor of the Canon should make a difference, but how much???

Thanks,
I noticed you sold your Sony A6500 for a A7iii.
I have been drooling over the A7Riii for a bit. Are you glad you made the swap?
I'll post some of my wife's event pics for the fair. She shot the same spots. I think her images will make the Sony 6500 look like snapshots. We'll see.

Beautiful series, Jim. I love the close-up of the sax player’s hands. It tells a great story.
