would like to hear what he just purchased from B&H. My son is in is last year of College studying Photo Journalism and when finished he is getting his Masters Degree in this field. He should me his wish list and I wish i could have spend what he did. He fell in love with his mothers' Sony A7Riii for starters. ens were the top of the line all Sony e mounts SAL Lenses. 15 -30, 28 -75, 50 macro f/1.4 and a 55 - 400 lens, plus all the different filters for all the lenses. I talked him out of the 400 fixed lens, but he thought about getting the Tamron 100 - 600 lens? For a flash he purchased the old Sony FVH60, Sony manual remote, Vello Shutter Boss 3, Sony Vertical Grip and 3 extra batteries, Sony extra battery pack for the Flash and the extension for the flash. A suitcase carrying case, Manfretto Tripod and a ManFretto Monpod, Extra cases to put the lenses in the case with Sony did not include them with the lenses, Hoya +1,+2 and +4 extension tubes for closeup shots, Polaroid rechargeable AA batteries and charger 12 batteries, Triple A Polaroid batteries and charger 4 pack. He also purchased two manual to read with the manuals for the equipment he is getting. The manual by Gary Friedman and David Busch on the Sony A7Riii Camera along with other manuals he found interested in. Total bill was close to over $12,000, but he will be spending more time near the house in the next two years. Wife is five months along, School work and then paying off school bills and camera Equipment loan plus seling his photos and looking for a full time job in the process. I wish his all the luck in the world. Did that years ago!!!

Ten grand is a pretty expensive life lesson. He can get some Gucci and Rolex items down by the Battery in Manhattan for far less.

I have bought some used stuff from Abe's at a PHYSICAL vintage photo show with good results. But only where I had the opportunity to check out the equipment personally and negotiate the price (they often come down from the ask). On used equipment, I don't generally care if the equipment is grey market - but I wouldn't buy a used Nikon lens from them for that very reason. I don't know where the "of Maine" came from, but I think Abe was intended to invoke images of Honest Abe, who might have been a more recent memory when they first started in business!

LOL...

Geez, I sure hope so! I did send that nice man in Nigeria the money, after all.... I'm sure I'll be hearing back any day from him.
