My New Nikon 200-500mm Tryout

My new lens arrived and I made a short trip (12 miles) to the elephant seal rookery at Piedras Blancas to see how it compared to my old Sigma 150-500mm lens. Comparing the Nikon to the Sigma I am quite pleased. I bought a refurbished lens from Nikon on their sale last week and got good value. The Lens and my D800e body and Nikon strap weigh 7.7 pounds though. I can still manage that for a another few years, I hope!

I've been looking at the Tamron150-600mm G2 for my Nikon D7200. Any thoughts, opinions, and/or suggestions about the Tamron or the Nikon 200-500 that you all are discussing?
Thanks in advance,
Frank
