As I promised, here is one of my first shots with my new Sigma Art 70mm f2.8 Macro lens in E- Mount. Shot this morning with my A7III, this is a jpeg, straight out of the camera at high ISO with no post processing and no noise reduction. A dragonfly. PLEASE CLICK ON DOWNLOAD BELOW THE PHOTO FOR BEST COLOR AND RESOLUTION. Cheers

I really can't believe this has gone on for 5 pages when the 'one true answer' was given in the 2nd response. you really cannot go wrong with the Nikon macro or any of the major brands with a macro that fits Nikon. All are terrific. Differences in image quality are so slight you won't know the difference.
Just get whatever macro that fits your budget. Just pick one. Eeny meeny miny moe. This little piggy went to the market. Pick a card, any card.

Some more with the new Sigma Art 70mm f2.8 macro, only $569 US. It comes in mounts for all the major camera brands. The IQ is simply stunning. These were shot with my Sony A7RIII. Enjoy

These images are actually very good, I am a bit surprised, I have shot a lot of long legged flies which are harder to get than one might think and I am impressed with your images, I have owned several Canon and Sigma macro lenses and I am now curious as to whether or not your 70mm is not sharper than my Sigma 150mm.

This is the first Sigma ART macro lens, so they made it the sharpest, with most clarity they have ever made to earn that ART badge. It is stunning.

In a rare case, their lead advertising line is actually truthful, I have tested and seen it. (From Adorama Camera) : "Stunning resolution and clarity for a breathtaking visual experience a razor-sharp macro lens joins the Art line .The long-awaited first macro lens in the Art line "

I still think that I will wait for Sigma Art to come out, most of the macro I do is reversed lens anyway, although I do find your images to be quite impressive.

One thing that many people don't realized about macro lenses is that the quality of the out of focus area is affected by the focal length of the lens, I really like the 150mm focal length for that reason as well as the longer working distance.

Below is one of my reversed lens shots of a Magnolia Green Jumping spider, if you have never seen one you can't really appreciate just how small these suckers are, I can't see its face with my naked eye, just a little tiny dot of orange in the middle of a tiny green spider.

Very nice. The Laowa 25mm ultra macro does 5:1. This lens is a Sigma Art 70mm f2.8. It may be a long while before Sigma makes an Art 150mm macro. Cheers

BTW these new Sigma Art 70mm f2.8 macro lens shots (above) were all shot in continuous autofocus mode, flexible spot. I set my Sony A7RIII and A7III to fast and responsive focus and this lens and camera was able to track and follow focus on these moving bugs, truly amazing camera and lens combo.Cheers
