I am only about 6-7 feet away but inside the blind with the sun behind me. So from the male House Finch's point of view I am inside a black cave. Alas, I and the camera are not silent. His head popped up as he looked around, went back to eating and then went to a different feeder. (loaded with sun flower seeds and further away)

I am now going to confuse them even more - move the blind to the west side of the yard on the other side of the feeders. I like to stay up reading and then sleep late anyway.
