Wow, you do sound like Dinesh D’Souza in your passionate hatred of all things left of the Republicans. But I have to wonder if either of you has ever read the definition of or any of the books defending and defining f*****m? It used to be the right thought the left were c*******ts and the left thought the right were f*****ts. At least then they understood the basics of each philosophy. Don't forget that the c*******ts and the f*****ts were both really based on dictator leaders you had different vies on how. C*******ts wanted the state to run most everything and f*****ts wanted industry and the church to run most everything. That's the simple definition. Read more source material not just GOP propaganda (I say propaganda because that's what "The Big Lie" is but there are many conservative writings that at least follow the English language for terms and articulate the views of conservatives. The fact is while you and your political side are obsessed with calling the left names and the left is obsessed with you and the right making absurd statements the real people in power are playing us all for suckers. You would do well to read more and maybe you would not need to make each argument contingent upon insulting the people you are talking to. We should be working together to o*******w the real villains in this and if we don't we'll all lose our country and there will be a totalitarian government.

The problem with your post is nobody can identify the villains. With so much propaganda out there from villains of all sides everybody tends to polarize in their thinking and THEN choose a villain.

Two examples: A******ns and G****l W*****g.

A******ns are said to be a woman’s right from the Left. There is absolutely nothing in the Constitution that mentions a******n is a woman’s right yet SCOTUS upheld it. But what about the right of the baby? Liberals whine and b***h about hunting animals, about k*****g baby harp seals, about injured puppies but k*****g a human baby right up to and including after birth seems to be acceptable to them. Does nobody see the hypocrisy there?

G****l W*****g does seem to be real, at least I, personally, believe it. Years ago when I hunted in the Fall there was almost always snow on the ground with temperatures around 40 F and below. Now I seldom see snow while hunting. But my belief is the earth is doing its own warming cycle with no help from mankind. That theory is spread about by the Al Gore types who are/have made millions of dollars from scaring people.

Dennis - I'm trying to disengage from this general conversation because I don't think it's going anywhere. But I want compliment you on good and thoughtful answers. I don't expect perfect arguments or people never to get passionate but I really resent people who can only argue on a jr. high level of name calling and trying to antagonize (I must admit I'm often amused by good sarcasm though). You remind me of one of my friends from up in the valley--very conservative area. Despite being raised in the midwest I lived longer in Berkeley then anywhere else and he's lived in Visalia--a very conservative area. We're bikers and met riding and have remained friends for years (no--much as we think we are we're not bad-ass bikers--we ride BMWs and are old). Anyway, I enjoy our political discussions more than with almost anyone else because he challenges me by presenting real ideas which help me refine my thinking. I think you have that same quality so it's been a pleasure.

To me you make good points about a******n although I think it should be individual choice and that the reality is that if we outlaw it too many women will be k**led and too many lives needlessly ruined if we do. Note--I do not buy the beginning of life issue because that falls under religious belief and separation of church and state and has no business being the law of the land.

There are many nuances to c*****e c****e that I'm sure we could have fun going back and forth about. To me it comes down to what I told my friend--I don't care if it's true or not I like having cleaner air and cleaner rivers and cleaner ocean and I feel an obligation from our generation to the next to leave the planet in good condition. I am not a scientist, but I do believe in c*****e c****e. When I see the midwest sweltering in mid-90's temperatures at the first of July, that is a big change from the fifties and sixties when those temperatures did not come until mid-August and summers were always mild and pleasant. Winters have become colder. I never experienced a sub-zero winter, but a couple of years ago sub-zero temps down to as low as -14 were felt in my hometown in lower Michigan. Things are changing, but I wouldn't hazard a guess as to why.
