This is one of the Californian Towhees that visit my yard on a regular basis. It bounced around in the plants of the flower bed beside my blind too quick for a shot, up to the retaining wall of the upper terrace but was in direct light and the glare just washed out the details on the side to the sun, then up on the fence in light shade but just enough afternoon light for the warm tones and paused for this pose.

Superb capture, excellent definition, a must view in the download.
Well taken.
I am using a hunter's blind in the yard and when the bird first landed on the flower bed it was only about 5 feet from me. But I couldn't get a shot because it kept moving fairly fast in and out of the plants and flower pots and by the time I found it in my view finder it was moving to another location.
Thank You
Very good capture Robert.
Great catch, Bob! As usual, your detail is top quality.
