Walmart ONN external flash ....................................
I bought one of these yesterday at Walmart looks like the amazon site below sells it cheaper. My question is have any of you used this flash and if so how is the quality? To me the build quality looks decent for the price. For some reason when I first mounted it on one of my cameras the shutter speed was way lower then 1/60 of a second and was in auto and would not fire in any other mode. Mounted on one of my other cameras and it worked fine put it back on the first camera (Canon 40D) and works fine. Not sure why it did not work right the first time. Any insight on this flash would be appreciated. Link below.

It doesn’t have TTL mode, according to the description. If you’re ok with that, it’s a good buy. If not, the Godox, Neewer, and Yongnuo lines have TTL models from about $60.

Did you check the “flash ready” lamp the first time you tested It?
Yes it worked fine fires within 3 seconds. That was the first thing I tested does not make any sense why it was not working I thought it was do to the old Canon 40D but now it works on it. Hope it is not a defect and would happen again the gentleman above said it does not have TTL and it looks like it does not. All it has is S1 and S2 witch at this time do not need. I found that it works very good in manual mode and not to well in auto mode and since I usually only shoot in manual mode it should work for me. One thing it does not do is show the flash symbol in the EVF not a deal breaker to me. I have not used a flash since the film days so need to read up on how to use them again. Thanks for your reply.
