nanaval :

Putting in a shadow isn't usually terribly difficult . . . BUT, HOW ON EARTH WERE YOU ABLE TO GET THAT GIRL TO HOLD IN THAT POSITION WHILE YOU TOOK HER PHOTO? Sheer MAGIC!

You did great with adding a realistic shadow, Val, and the Cornish shed is delightful!

Thank you snapshot18. I have tried doing it with the 3d in photoshop which should be easier than doing it by duplicating the object and using prospective. It worked very well in the tutorial and thought it worth a go to try doing a shadow in a different way.. The girl is my granddaughter taken a couple of years ago, sadly not magic but a trampoline and catching her in mid air... I got quite a few interesting shots of both my granddaughters that day...

Thank you very much Donna. I subscribe to a Photoshop Training Channel done by Jesús Ramirez and the title was

How To Make Realistic
Shadows in Photoshop
[Technique You Probably Don’t Know] so I thought I wouls have a go. It is done with the 3d in Photoshop and is an interesting way to do it.... Still needs more work on the technique though..

I too like the shed, it is in the village and I think it is the only one like it...

Thank you very much Bob, with using 3d and the infinity light it is easier to move the shadow as it is not distorted when the light is moved but acts like a real shadow...

Well done! The shadow is pretty darned good, and the shed roof, certainly an environmentally friendly way to avoid shingles, lol!

Thank you very much Randy, by using the 3d you make an exact copy of the thing you want to make a shadow of and moving it with the infinity light once it is in position you can line it up with the others shadows in the composite..

Fantastic job Val! I've tried it a while back and found it very hard to do right!
