Bird realizing I am on the other side and only about 10-12 feet away instead of 50+.
5DIV, 100-400L @ 400, 1/640 @ f/7.1, ISO 1600 handheld, in deep shade, afternoon light
I set up my blind last Saturday (it is a popup tent in camo with zippered windows on three sides and a door on the forth, but call it a hunting blind and that is good for $10-20 more on the price). I did it in case they needed more sleeping space for my daughter's going away to Medical School* backyard sleep over and two day BBQ. But they had one of those screen tents made to enclose a picnic table, sleeping bags, air mattresses etc. and the temps only got down to the mid 60's so they didn't need it. It was a bit crowded with 10 of them in it. Then all week I have been opening and closing the zippered windows etc so the birds would get used to it looking different at times. I also tried two different chairs to get the right height for photographing from it. Today I went out in the morning and afternoon to take pictures. For now it is east of the feeders so it is best for morning pictures. In a week or so I'll move it to the west side for better afternoon shots. I can't do the south side because the yard is terraced and there is a block wall, flower bed, block wall. Can't do the north side because the blind would be in the swimming pool, not optimal for photography. So today's shots and for a while will be my shots from the blind-until it gets too hot to be in it during the day.
