When I am in the lightroom develop window and select an image the window is dark showing only the filename. What am I doing wrong?

Hmmm. That seems odd. Is this something recent? Was it working before and suddenly this happened?

I can’t recreate what you described.

You might want to take a look at this:

Are you using a Mac? I am and Lightroom has, for me, in the Develop Module, gone to disappearing all the side panels. The image is there, but nothing else. I have to either hit "Cmd+H" then "Cmd+Tab" or minimize the page and enlarge it again for the panels to reappear. Trouble is, sometimes panels again disappear the instant any option is clicked on. I hate it. The frequency of this disappearing act increases until Lightroom is closed and relaunched. Then it behaves for an hour or two before beginning again. This began about a month ago and continues today. Is that the problem you're having? On line research suggest the bug will fixed in the next update.... four updates ago... I don't have any suggestions other than rassle with it until Apple/Adobe get it figured out.

What kind of image are you trying to open? Is it a raw file? What version of LightRoom do you have?

I use a Mac and I have been having this problem too. It is irritating but not fatal. I hope they fix it soon because I hate having to quit LR and restart it.

PS -- In a way your post was good news because now I know it is not me or my setup.

Do a quick Chat with Adobe and they will fix you up in a jiffy.

I use a Mac and I don’t have this problem. So .. have you contacted Adobe support? It might be software problem that they can fix. I couldnt’ print from Photoshop for while I thought it was an Apple update issue but finally I spent some time with Adobe support and they fixed the problem. It had nothing to do with Apple.

Just saying I use a Mac I do not have this problem.

See my reply to algernon above.

Just saying. I use a Mac I do not have this problem. Which probably means it is not the Mac.
