Large Black Bee

I have got a few shots of these in the past but not very good ones so I tried something Douglass told me about I trapped one in a container and put it in the Freezer but about that time my wife ask me to do something for her I thought it would only take a sec. but it took longer and I thought I had killed it so took a few shots of it when it came back to life you can see the frost on it

Female Valley Carpenter bee (Xylocopa varipuncta).

Thanks Douglass,
I really thought I had killed this bee, but now that it lived though the freezing it was a lot of fun I need to try it on the little sweet bee's
