Just finding cool ways to spend hot rainy days! I bought this pretty little succulent because I like its graceful growth habit. The first shot is a normal photo. The second and third are focus stacks using the Helicon FB Tube. I was obviously playing because stacking probably wasn't necessary for either shot. All three were shot with the Nikkor 105 Micro lens.

Thank you, Linda! Finally got the computer up and running. It likes to stack.

These are wonderful Carol! I like your descriptive phrase "graceful growth habit". Succulents live in a world of their own and there is indeed much grace there. Another great example of your effective use of black backgrounds and a good reminder to me to dig that lens out and make better use of it, it never disappoints.

Thank you, Bob! I knew it would work when I first saw it. I really enjoy stacking and use it whenever I see an opportunity.

Thank you, Phil! I’ve had that lens for years but use it more these days than in the past. It works extremely well with the tube, too. I used to grow a lot of succulents but I don’t have a good place for them now.

I guess it’s the color. The flowers have an almost translucent look and are very pretty. The whole thing is only about 6 to 8 inches tall. I’m glad you enjoyed the shots!😊

Thank you, Donna. It does seem to glow. I didn’t do anything special with lighting so the plant gets credit for that.

Thank you, Sylvia. I fell for it as soon as I saw it. I could just see how the graceful lines and pretty flowers would photograph.
