While walking in the neighborhood I came across this white pine. The needles reminded me of a starburst. With some embellishment I came up with this shot. FYC.

Color space says "uncalibrated" which I believe explains the difference in colors in thumbnail from download. I like the idea of this, Frank. Not sure about the edits, but be true to you Curious if you would consider b&w?

Linda I am always looking for something different. As I mentioned the needles did catch my eye and I immediately thought of a starburst. As for it being "uncalibrated" I have no idea what that is a good or bad thing. It may have something to do with the layer and the graduated noise filter. Technically it is way above my pay grade.

In keeping with the title, have you tried brightening the shot a bit? The brightness is a bit subdued, even in the download. But the starburst effect is still evident.

Sorry about that! In your editor at the point you do a jpg save, there should be some setting somewhere that offers sRGB. That is best for web viewing. If you can list your software maybe some other folks will be familiar? Just ignore the fact you've probably told me more than once in the past

I took your suggestion and did a very quick lightening. It certain did change the look.

And it's sRGB color space Though it looks like more happened than just brightness.

Definitely more interesting. The HSL tool can brighten specific colours - have you tried that?

I saved it in Photoshop. The original JPEG download was too big for UHH so I dropped it down. I did tick off the box that say Adobe Profile RGB.

No but I can I could not do any adjustments as far a lightening or darkening in PS. So I downloaded it to LR, and merely changed the exposure. I didn't spend a whole lot of time on it. I wanted to just get an idea on what were the possibilities. It is something I will have to play with to see what I can come up with.

Here is another. The possibilities seems to be endless. Maybe I should put this on canvas and have the Louvre put it on display.

I would never have thought of going this direction. Kudos to R.G. for his guidance!
