I need to find a professional lab to process a B&W negative. Needs to be enlarged to at least 15 x 20 or something near that.

What size negative? If you can get a scan and a jpeg file you do a computer print any size you want. - Dave

Wilsond12. Are you saying that you can just scan an old b&w negative into the computer and then get a positive print? I thought you had to have an expensive and specialized scanner to do this? If you don't please tell me more as I have boxes of negatives I would like to bring back to life.
Sorry I am diverging from original question and hope this does not offend as this is my first post.

What I was suggesting is you find someone with an expensive and specialized scanner but you can do it. Look here to find out how - http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2011/07/how-to_turn_slides_and_negativ.html Then you have to have a program to change the negative into a positive. I have elements 8 and it will do it. Good Luck & let me know if it works for you - Dave

I have an HP scanner with a slide/film adapter - not really that expensive. When I scan photo prints or slides or negative, I scan into a BMP file- otherwise the jpeg losses are killers. I guess the jpeg processing done by the scanner software was intended primarily for a quick file to email. The process is time-consuming, but if you have a valuable image, it is worth it. :-D

My son bought me a negative/slide scanner, from of all places, Bed, Bath, and Beyond for like $99. It works wonderful. It has a 5MP scanner. You load the negatives into the carrier, slide it into the unit, run the software and it scans the image and loads it onto the computer where you can edit it like a normal photo.

Is this only for 35mm slide size or can it scan larger negatives?

Mine is only for 35mm. I don't know if they make one for larger sizes.

Thanks for the link and information. I read the copy and will try to build the box. However it seems that this will only work for 35mm slide type negatives and unfortunately the negatives that I was asking about have a lot more vintage than that and go back to my initial photographic efforts with a 127 type camera of 1960,s vintage so I will have to experiment a little with sizing. I will let you know how it works but my scheduling might prevent me from being able to have the time to do this until late September.

Oops. Sent Q as to size before I saw answer to Joe's earlier Q. Blame the early hour.
