I took many shots of this waterfall. If I understood correctly...the subject shouldn't be dead center. Do I have this right?

actually, i think this could be moved to the left a bit more... put the end of the bridge at the left edge of the frame, to give the water more room to "flow into", and shoot with a slower shutter to blur the falls. something between 1/2 and one second oughta do nicely. you might need to put on a polarizer and stop down your lens to get that slow, or shoot this on a cloudy day, but the falls will look really neat...

Thank You, I took this shot at many different angles & I think I have one like you're talking about; I'll find it & post it to see if that's what you mean.

The trick is to take from many angles and see what YOU like best.
Don't forget you can kneel, lie down or stand on a table. You also have portrait as well as horizontal. Sure you noticed if you removed the shadow in left corner you would have cut off some of the beautiful splashing water pool. Annoying! The fun comes when you see a photo of yours that makes you say "Wow" and you do not feel shy about saying "WoW"

Regardless of composition...it's a very nice photo and your photo inspired the desire to be there and see if for myself! :-)

Thank You, I actually do, do all those angles you mentioned & from different points of direction. I didn't remove any shadows or do anything with lighting or color. I only did a little crop.

Thank You, It isn't always easy for me to pick my best shots. My daughter tells me I'm too critical of my own photos.

I like your waterfall photo. I've read and agree with the reviews thus far. Simply by virtue of the fact that you're aware of how very important comosition is makes you a good photographer who'll only get better and better. Keep up the good work. Isn't photography fun?

What Squirl033 said................ To me it's also a bit more interesting to have the bridge closer to the edge - it leads your eye into the picture and then you follow the water and rock detail across the picture.

I think the composition is pretty good the way it is, but it would have been better to have more room for the water to flow into.

It's a great photo. The current composition would be hardpressed to be improve upon. The bridge and the space between it and the head of the falls are the focal points. The photo has great depth and encourages the mind's eye to pause and gaze about, reflecting upon the serenity of the scene. Very well done.

I love the fact that the falls are NOT blurred! Everyone has their own opinion but this is beautiful like it is.
