A theoretical question

I am eagerly awaiting the appearance of what may be called the Canon 90D.
A burning question.
If it has a new, denser sensor,
If it can capture 4k,
If it comes with a newer processor,
Will it necessitate the removal of the anti-aliasing screen for higher acuity when used in 4k?

Inquiring minds want to know.
(OK, maybe only I want to know).

RUMORS AND SPECULATION ONLY! Canon has released no info on when or IF it is forthcoming. Why worry yourself over what MIGHT be?

There's an acronym for that condition. It's called FUD. Fear, Uncertainty, & Doubt. If you keep waiting for the next great camera or lens, you'll never buy anything. Damn the torpedos, full speed ahead. Buy what you can afford today; use it for as long as you can; upgrade when you can afford to do so. I have a 9 year old Sony A850 that I'd love to upgrade. Two reasons that prevent switching to one of the newer Sony mirrorless bodies: Cost & the fact that my A850 does a very good job. I'd love to have some of the new features that newer bodies offer but, I can't afford them and I'm not a pro.

Check out the Canon Rumors website for that kind of info. There is no solid information about what and when yet, but it is interesting to follow. Till then and for some time after, my 80D does an excellent job.

I suppose my real question is:
Can 4k be achieved with the anti - aliasing screen doing its job.
I could care less about 4k.
I would just like to see the the screen gone.

The 5DIV has a low pass filter and it shoots 4K.

If Canon haven't upped their sensor-making capabilities it won't be as good as the Nikon or Sony equivalent.

Does any other 4K capable camera have a filter? If so, yes. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. It was never an issue with 1080.

Long nose pliers will get rid of it...(theoretically, of course.)

While not the A850 I would love to have an A900 today.

As canon has produced the world's largest ultrahigh sensitivity CMOS Image Sensor I don't think they are lacking in capabilities as much as taking a more conservative approach. Canon has very deep pockets not fueled strictly by consumer camera sales and I would not write them out.

Main difference between the A850 & A900 is the A900 will shoot 5FPS while the A850 will only do 3FPS in continuous mode. The body, sensor, & metering system were the same.

Whilst I agree, and I do believe that Canon is catching up, Sony is huge, and makes many of the sensors for smartphones, as well as Nikon. It's going to be an interesting game. Canon could use Sony sensors if they wished to, and have acknowledged that, which would be trouble for Nikon. Perhaps Canon is being kind to Nikon.
