i keep trying to get a decent picture of this pier, but every time June Gloom creeps across the landscape and dooms me. So I thought I'd try to get the better of it....and sneak in a little post processing. Cropped, contrasted, straightened, sharpened, and put in black & white. Oh, and I saved it as a slightly smaller picture for ease of download-it's not very sharp so you might not want to bother downloading it...
Any suggestions to get a better picture are welcomed. What do you think of the wave at the bottom of the picture? Does it detract from the main subject?
Have not visited in many years, but you could go further up the beach and frame it between the palm trees.
Also, you get some spectacular sunsets in that area. You may be able to compose a shot with the sun setting just beyond the pier's end.

June gloom and sunsets do not mix, alas....the sun keeps hiding from me, I may start to take it personally. But those are both great ideas, thanks for looking, and maybe in July or August the sun will show up again!
The picture is much more dramatic on the download. I almost pushed back from the computer so my feet or up to my knees didn't get wet. Nicely done.

Not a total loss, then! Thanks for looking and for your comment.
