Canon 7D video question

Greetings folks,
I was out and about taking some photos last week with my 7D. I was set up on my tripod having fun and enjoying seeing some wildlife. Something was happening in front of me that I really wanted to capture on video. ( I have just about zero experience using the video feature) I switched on the video recorder and captured some of the action and not giving much thought to the process. It turns out, I had my camera oriented vertically. I downloaded the memory card and guess what? Yep, I captured great footage that is oriented sideways!
So, anyone know how to fix this? I suspect there is some editing software that would do this quite easily.

The attached photo is the action that was happening in front of me.

I just realized I posted this in the Photo Gallery.
I think it should be in the "Main Photography Discussion"

I don't know how to move it.

Hi Willy,
The image is fantastic! Regarding the video, I've done the same thing with my 7D, and in Picasa. I can turn it with either the left or right turn arrows. That is the only editing program I have so far. Picasa is a free editing program from Google ( if you are not aware). Good luck and again , the bear image is a winner!

Thanks for the tip. I'll give Picasa a try.

You can make the change with Quicktime Pro if that's the type of video you feel comfortable with.
You could also try downloading a free copy of Virtualdub http://www.virtualdub.org/download
and convert your video source file.
Not knowing the format of the video file you have, I'm not sure what all you would need, but virtualdub will load most video codecs, but if it doesn't have the one needed, you can download them.
I'm thinking that if you can play the video now, you have the codec on your pc already and so you'll just need a copy of VirtualDub.
