Hello, My name is Irene
For the past 6 months I have been focusing more on photography more than I ever have. I have always enjoyed it...I was the photographer for my yearbook and that was in 1988. YIKES! I went to college for Graphic Design and have worked in that field for the past 12 years and now I want to take photography serious. Im in the mist of launching my website. I love taking Senior pictures, Real Estate and Landscapes. Here is one of my Senior pic...I would love to hear any feed back you may have THANK YOU! Irene

Welcome! Nice shot and lighting. The background is very distracting to me. I would like to see a different background and place him to the right third of the shot. I'm not a portrait photographer but that is what I would like to see in a shot. There are a lot of good people here to help.
Welcome to the forum, Irene.
Having read the text of your message and then looking at the shot (in that order!) my first reaction was "Wow, she's changed a lot since her senior year"
The background is a bit busy on that one. Also would like to see more contrast between the top of his head and the background. Minor things but we all strive for perfection :)

Hi Irene, welcome to the hog. You have a very nice shot. I too agree that the background is a little to busy and distracting, but otherwise it is a very nice shot.
Welcome to the UHH

Welcome Irene. Nice posing and lighting on the chappie and the white shirt is not too burnt out. I hope you took shots of him looking at the camera too. Like the others before me, the background can be improved (during and after). I feel the person is a bit too close to the white post. There is also a dailsy and bright triangular foliage growing out of the right side of his head, and a brown stalk out of the top. These can be cloned out as well as the 2 daisies in the top right. I know I am picky, but they grab too much attention from the person. The whole background can be softened some more as well. You asked for feedback, and lots of members just love to do that! Good luck in your endeavours.
Oh Thank you...no I appreciate all the feed back. I guess I am a little to proud of my daisies in my garden haha!!!! I was watching them everyday waiting for them to open so I could use them as a background. I thing I just might put them in their own photo.

Hi Irene and welcome to the HOG,
I must say I agree with TK. The background is a bit too busy, a shallower DOF would certainly help. Moving the subject over to the right hand side third where your subject would be looking into the pic would also improve what is a lovely, well exposed pin sharp photo. Great daises but, do you really want himto compete with them, still easy enough to clone out. I too would like to see him looking right down the barrel of the lens These comments are all what I think on a personal level. it's each to his or her own !. You are obviously quite accomplished. Congratulations 'Keep it up '! Normanc
