Is there a PP program specific for landscape, as the overwhelming number of my shots are landscapes. I am currently using free programs. but after an upcoming open heart procedure (which by the way scares the $hit out of me, even though I have seen any number of them) I want to buy myself a present.

You deserve the present, although I don't have a recommendation. It will reward you as you celebrate your new health, but get grumpy over the time it takes to get back in the groove. Good luck!

Almost any program you buy will be great for landscapes, including Luminar, Lightroom, Affinity, Photoshop, etc. They all do similar functions. Try out different programs with the 30-day free trial first and see which one you like. Also, you need to determine what functions you want a program to perform. For example, while Lightroom performs organization, or digital asset management functions, Photoshop and most other programs do not; for these programs you can use Bridge to perform that function. It all depends on how you like to work. I shoot many landscapes, I live an hour and one-half from Yosemite National Park, and also many other types of images, such as objects, some people, and lots of wildlife. I use Lightroom and Photoshop for the most part, but also use Topaz, ON1, and Luminar as plugins. There are many choices, check them all out while you are recovering. I wish you well with your upcoming surgery.

I took a look at Landscape Pro and it is too limited in scope, and you have to do things mostly their way and you end up with their look.
I suggest you take a look at On1 Raw - which has a very good Effects module that will pretty much address anything you'd want to do with a landscape image. Together with Lightroom and Photoshop - you can do great landscape images. I like to do stitched panoramas vs single wide or ultra-wide lens shots - more detail, less distortion, more natural perspective. All three programs have a pano stitching function.
This is a 3 row, 5 column panorama shot with a D800 and a 45mm lens, stitched in Lightroom and enhanced in On1.
You can get similar results with Nik Software (DXO Photolab) and Topaz Suite.

Don't be afraid of the open heart procedure. I had one in December and, after 4 months of rehab, I felt better than I had in several years. Just passed the 6-month milestone and ALL of the post-op symptoms are gone. Believe it or not, I never had a single day of post-op pain in the chest area, despite a 10-inch incision.
I haven't yet decided on my present to myself, but am leaning towards new golf clubs. Good luck to you.
