While trimming my Crepe Myrtles I found a visitor in the branches. This snake was about seven feet long and is a welcome visitor. Being in such a rural setting they help to control the mouse, mole, and vole populations.

There are many people who don’t appreciate the part all creatures play within the environment. They all have a purpose.

Thanks. If you don’t bother them they don’t bother you.

Nice images. As long as they are not poisonous or large enough to swallow me whole, I'm ok with them.

How does one know if a snake is poisonous or not. That's why in my eye...all snakes are poisonous lol. As you can tell i'm not a big fan of snakes. But they do photograph very well. Nice captures.

Poisonous Snakes have elliptical eyes, like a cat. Copperhead & Rattlers.

Nice capture. He's quite a handsome fellow and I'm happy to hear that you appreciate his role in the balance of nature. When mice and rat populations get out of control, they can spread disease and deplete our food supplies. Non-venomous snakes, birds of prey, coyotes, cats, etc. all play their part in the delicate balance of nature.

Now, wasps....I hate those S.O.B's so you can kill them all (after your macro photography of them of course).

Looks like a Blue Racer which is non-poisonous with the round pupil eyes, and single scale from mouth to eye.

Elliptical eyes and diamond shaped heads. Poisonous snskedcslso help balance the environment. Best to give them plenty of room.
