I am looking for a photography program that is free.

Do we really need to get into racial jokes and politics on a thread by a seventy something veteran looking for software?
However silly or unreasonable you may think his request may seem, this doesn't seem the forum to be making "ebonics" and "Obamaphone" remarks.

And gratuitously calling people a dick makes you......what?
It's not gratuitous if it's true. You see, big tough guys on the internet are really just cowards saying things they would never say to a man's face. So STFU. Poor guy asks an honest question and jerks that don't have an answer go on attack. It's OK to attack bullies.
gra·tu·i·tous

1.
uncalled for; lacking good reason; unwarranted.
"gratuitous violence"

2.
given or done free of charge.
"solicitors provide a form of gratuitous legal advice"
synonyms: unjustified, uncalled for, unwarranted, unprovoked, undue; More
With all the snide, demeaning, and slurring comments on here, I sure am glad we’re not all in the same room together - there’d be a riot, I am sure!

For a Windows user, you should take a look at a free program created some years ago by Microsoft developers (though it is not supported by MS). It's called Paint.net.
https://www.getpaint.net/"Paint.NET is image and photo editing software for PCs that run Windows. It features an intuitive and innovative user interface with support for layers, unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of useful and powerful tools. An active and growing online community provides friendly help, tutorials, and plugins.
It started development as an undergraduate college senior design project mentored by Microsoft, and is now maintained and developed by Rick Brewster. Originally intended as a free replacement for the Microsoft Paint software that comes with Windows, it has grown into a powerful yet simple image and photo editor tool. It has been compared to other digital photo editing software packages such as Adobe® Photoshop®, Corel® Paint Shop Pro®, Microsoft Photo Editor, and The GIMP."

I am looking for a photography program that is free, easy to work with and is supported. I do not know photoshop or lightroom and do not have time to study on a regular basic. Also, I am moving to include my Nikon D7200 with a new D850. I take a lot of micro, nature and air shows. I also have a need to build a web site to start selling prints. Need to work to save the print for sale with cc or something and/or a site that I can safely sell the prints thru.
Thanks,

Let's see if I have this right....
You have around $4000 or more invested in cameras.... probably that much in lenses....
You want to be a pro photographer with your own website, selling your work...
And you are unwilling to spend the money for or take the time to learn to use image editing and image archive management software?
GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!
Yeah, I suppose that sounds snarky. But I sincerely hope it's taken a wake up call... Because I
really think you need to check your priorities!
Instead of sinking another $3000+ in a camera, you probably should be putting that money toward proper software... and possibly computer hardware... and classes to learn to use it all well. Anyone wanting to "go pro" also should seriously consider business and marketing classes, consulting with attorneys and CPAs regarding business licenses, tax implications, protecting intellectual property, record keeping and accounting, model/property releases, and more. It sounds as if you also might need some classes and/or software related to website development and maintenance. You'll also need a host for that site.
The hard truth is that if you have a good eye or good fortune, you may put your camera on full auto and get a great shot. If you have great shot, you may need minimal editing to make a nice print. And somebody may buy it. There are, for example, wedding photographers out there with minimal technical skills that end up selling their work. Call it lowered expectations or improved automation, but it happens. If this person tries and fails, he will have learned something. If he succeeds, that just fine too. He wanted some advice on low-priced software and he got it.

Off topic to SUBVET. I did a radio show with a prison chaplain who was career Navy submariner. Late in the sub's service life, he served as a radioman on the USS Nautilus. I was impressed!

Yes, last time I counted there were about 700 ads for wedding photographers like those on my local Craigslist.
And I'd wager 95 to 99% of them will never turn a profit and will be out of business in a year or two.
Wedding photography ain't easy, but it's a whole heck of a lot more lucrative and in much, much higher demand than nature, macro and air show photography!
Just sayin'

I was thinking the same thing. He should probably look for a free camera, too.
Or maybe he can get someone to do the editing & sales for free. My kind of business!
Haha.
