I was recently reading a stock photo advise book. The author advises to shut off the auto sharpness and contrast settings. I shoot a Pentax k-5 which has 5 settings above and below 0 in both contrast and sharpness. I know Canon has the same settings on most of their camera. I set mine at +1 in both sharpness and contrast. What is the general consensus amoung those seasoned photographers out there?
In-camera setting would only be fixed if shooting JPG, so RAW would not be affected. But consider that things that are fixed in the image cannot be removed later if one does not like the result.
Thanks for that I was not aware that the settings were not affected in RAW and I shoot RAW+
