There is an ongoing debate in the narrow gauge fan base about whether not the D&RGWRR ever painted its boilers green. Well, for one shining moment in 2010 there was a "Green-a-lot"

Time to end the debate. The paint scheme on D&RGW # 489, a Baldwin K-36 is not historically accurate for the D&RGW but it is accurate for Baldwin.

And yet there are many who would dispute that based on shop records. As for me, eh. It's the engines that count. and they ran when the world was still black and white

The green is a Baldwin thing not a D&RGW thing. Baldwin painted the boiler cover and cylinder a dark green.
Here's a photo when it wasn't green.

I purposefully worded my response to avoid a debate on that here. If you would like to discuss that question I suggest going here; http://ngdiscussion.net
